Show your instructor project pre-pro including:
  • set drawings
  • storyboards (not yet)
  • char concepts
  • Gantt chart for the 4 weeks (google doc)
  • assign tasks by name (sign off who completed by color code)
  • define what your breakdown will look like (not yet)

Meet with instructor individually for your position on your team

Let's discuss the 3D production process using a white board, there will be a quiz.


Projects to Chose From:

1.) 3D Lighting and Compositing Project
Length: 2 still shots @ 12 sec each + breakdown (camera move only, no animation)
   Shot01: action pose
   Shot02: photoreal render in outdoor environment

Time to complete: 3 weeks

Team Size: 3-5

Concept: 
2 hard surface vehicles in an action pose (i.e. cop car chasing getaway car)

2.) Brand open for Brightstone a non-profit that serves the adult disabled
Length: 1 shot ~ 15sec + breakdown (model building, environment for camera move on facility)
Time to complete: 3 weeks
Team Size: 3-5

Concept:
Camera move on facility with brand reveal over the top

Notes: Record studio quality voice over of "BrightStone is life empowering, life changing, and life saving."

3.) Digital Set

Length: 15-20sec + breakdown


Time to complete: 3 weeks
Team Size: 3-5

Concept:

Live action footage of 2 objects that are the same, like 2 buildings for instance.  Via CG and match moving model, render and composite a digital version of a similar asset.
OR
film actor on green screen and comp them into a digital env.


4.) 3D Char Anim (use existing chars pre-rigged)



Length: 30 sec + breakdown (simple style allowing time to complete in 3 weeks)
Time to complete: 3 weeks
Team Size: 3-5

Concept:

2 chars challenging each other to see who can lift the most weight or boxes/apples/whatever

5.) Modeling



Length: 20-30 sec + breakdown (camera moves on stills)
Time to complete: 3 weeks
Team Size: 3-5

Concept:

Model a 3D environment of your choosing light and texture, animate cams,  render comp.


6.) Rigging



Length: 30 sec of animation + breakdown (robot crab walking or some other )
Time to complete: 3 weeks
Team Size: 2-4

Concept:  Rig object animate, show the methods used, tools create etc in break down.
